What is the Leeds Parks Fund?
The Leeds Parks Fund is a charitable initiative dedicated to enhancing the public parks and green spaces of Leeds.
Leeds is one of the greenest cities in the UK and we would like to keep it that way! Parks are free, provide a space for everyone in the city to relax, spend time with family and friends, play, exercise and get some fresh air.
The Leeds Parks Fund has been set up to provide the opportunity for local people (and businesses!) to support parks and green spaces in the city. The idea is to make these places even better – for example, we would like to see more flowers, better places to play, more wildlife like butterflies and birds, and more beautiful spaces where people of all ages and abilities can take a stroll.
What difference will the fund make?
The kind of things that might be funded by the scheme are playgrounds, wildflower meadows, walking routes, outdoor sports’ facilities, flower beds, restoration of historic buildings, environmental education, community events and woodlands.

The Leeds Parks Fund was initiated by a partnership including Leeds Community Foundation, Leeds Parks and Green Spaces Forum and Leeds City Council. The fund is managed by local charity Leeds Community Foundation, and proceeds are allocated to park development projects by an independent panel.
