St Chad’s Small Grants Fund

st-chads-logoIn 2011, St Chad’s Parish Church in Far Headingley set up a special Endowment Fund with Leeds Community Foundation so that the income generated could be distributed annually as small grants. The scheme is aimed at small, locally-based voluntary and community groups and registered charities that benefit people in St. Chad’s Parish. The fund aims to meet social needs with a focus on: isolation of young or older people; activities that encourage local people to collaborate on projects and reduce isolation; local environmental issues; volunteering projects; inter-generational activities.

Most of the project’s beneficiaries must reside within the St Chad’s Parish Boundaries, which includes all or part of the Far Headingley, Headingley, Weetwood, Lawnswood, West Park, Beckett’s Park and Highbury areas. Applications from organisations based outside of the parish will be considered as long as you can show links to the area and a reason why you want to run a project there. You can enter your postcode into the Church of England Parish Finder here to see which is your local parish.

This fund is currently closed to applications and the size of the grants can vary based on the amount available. In 2017, grants of between £250 and £1,500 were available.
