Leeds Together at RSM

On the 24th June the final Leeds Together Event of this series was hosted by leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM. Hosted in partnership with 4 key organisations in Leeds, this event series brings together businesses and the community, providing an opportunity to understand the issues facing the city.

The event started off with a fantastic performance from the RSM Choir; performing a number of popular songs including ‘Lean On Me’; in which they dedicated it to The Leeds Fund and the support it gives.

The event then welcomed Mr Mitchell, Principal at Co-op Academy Leeds, based in Harehills. Jonny, then a first-time and relatively new Headteacher, enjoyed a prominent role in the 2013 BAFTA award-winning Channel 4 documentary series Educating Yorkshire.

The talk focused on stories from Jonny’s time in teaching, as well as the challenge’s and benefits of ethical leadership. There was also a lot of audience participation, with many feeling like they were back at school!

The event series; which this time round has been hosted by Irwin Mitchell, Sky Betting and Gaming, Clarion Law and RSM; has raised around £4,500 for The Leeds Fund; The Leeds Fund bridges the gap between those in need and those with the ability to help and supports a variety of projects within the city.

Thank you to all who have attended and supported the event and to our event partners for hosting each event. The next series will recommence in November.
